The obligations for coaches will be to attend training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the club's home ground - University Oval, Brinkin - and to attend all home and away fixtures. Training will take place from late January through to the end of June on a weekly basis.
The successful candidate will have the right experience of passion and enthusiasm required to join one of the best clubs in the Northern Territory.
The Pirates were formed in 1987 by a group of diehard Rugby fanatics who, to make a long story short, were not happy with the club they were with. Their main focus was to coach themselves and instill the first beginning’s of the modern game, running Rugby.
From humble beginnings of a toilet block, an esky, and access to the Teachers room at the then Darwin Institute of Technology (DIT), the DIT Pirates were a one team club dressed in black and white.
Now thriving, the Uni Pirates have two senior men's teams, a superior women’s team in a developing comp and juniors from Under 6s to Under 18s, including U16s girls.
The Uni Pirates also boasts one of the best sporting facilities in the NT with a fully air-conditioned club room, bar, change rooms and gym with a superb field to boot.
At the Pirates we believe that you will work harder for your mates and winning is a by-product of our club values and mateship.
